The seventh traditional St. Nicholas Charity Bazaar will be held on Monday 5th December from noon to 6:00 p.m., at the Prague Crossroads, the church consecrated to St. Anne in the Old Town. Just as previous years, this year’s bazaar offers not only the chance to buy Christmas gifts in advance and thereby contribute to a good cause, but also a chance to meet rare guests, enjoy the accompanying musical programme, the St. Nicholas distribution of gifts and last but not least, the rare opportunity to visit the  unique spaces of the “Prague Crossroads.”

The main organiser of the event is the Dagmar and Václav Havel VIZE 97 Foundation. Other non-profit organisations have accepted the invitation to participate in this popular event: the Foundation Charter 77 – the Barriers Account, People in Need, the Goodwill, Mammahelp, Home of St. Charles Borromeo and the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo, Helppes, the Endowment Fund of Czech Radio – Firefly, Voicecamp, Tea Comfort.eu., the Endowment Fund Sun for All, the Home of the Holy Family and the Protected Workshop A MANO.

The guide through the programme will be actress Kateřina Hrachovcová – Herčíková, who will present individual non-profit organisations, their products and activities they offer. Moreover, Mrs. Dagmar Havlová, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the VIZE 97 Foundation will co-moderate the event. If health permits, Mr. President Václav Havel will also attend the bazaar. Furthermore, visitors can look forward to e.g. Kateřina Brožova, Jiří Lábus, Aneta Langerova, Simona Postlerova, Jan Potměšil and a number of other celebrities. During the course of the afternoon, VIZE 97 Foundation scholarship recipient - violinist Tereza Přívratská will perform, plus the mixed choir of Blanka Laurychova Cantina and MikroChor of Lukáš Prchal will perform together with the Immediate Film Orchestra under the baton of the Varhan Orchestrovič Bauer. The entire event of will be completed by St. Nicholas’ gift giveaway and singing carols together after 4:00 p.m.

The concept of organising a charity bazaar was initiated by Mrs. Dagmar Havlová six years ago. The main objective of this event is to provide Czech non-profit organisations a chance to present their work under one roof, and thereby support mutual contact and cooperation. Non-profit organisations will donate the proceeds from sales of their products to the accounts of their projects.
